First Burning Man Image Rights Summit held April 28th!
The First
Burning Man Image Rights Summit was held in the Zocalo last
Wednesday,
April 28th, 2010. Participants included photographers and
filmmakers,
BM Staff and Legal Council, BM Media Team members,
representatives
from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and
Creative Commons,
as well as the organizers of Critical Tits and the
Flaming Lotus
Girls. Through an open format discussion about Burning
Man's current
camera policies, the group addressed several key topics:
BM Image Use
policies, nudity and privacy issues at Burning Man, Burning
Man as a
theatrical space, and potential changes that could be made to
the
policies in the future to meet the needs of participants as well as
photographers
and filmmakers. Though no major changes will be made to
Burning
Man’s policies for the 2010 event, this initial meeting marks an
important
first step in the evolution of media policies at BM. If you

you like to help with In person ticket sales? We are having a meeting
at Alchemy on Tuesday 4/27/2010 at 7 pm to set up folks with in person
sales. We also want to talk gate, and its an excuse to get some really
good coffee.

A one page finance report regarding our first full year as 'Utah Arts Alliance dba Element 11 Festival' will be available first at Sunday's meeting and then published online.

The MUTAYTOR returns to Salt Lake on April 21st - There will be a RAFFLE at this show to raise funds for adding production elements to The Center That Is Everywhere (lighting elements, etc.) - if you have an art piece or service that you would like to donate for the raffle, please email

Two quick updates -
SUNDAY - Community Meeting
There is a community
meeting to discuss Element 11 2010 BIZAARE 11 this Sunday April 18th,
4:30pm at Utah Arts Studios on 2191 South 300 West
TODAY (Thurs Apr 15th) - Production Meeting
There is also a
smaller production meeting tonight to discuss Element 11 and Theme Camps
at Burning Man in 2010 - this meeting is for heads of theme camps or
art project directors, performance troops, etc. and happens tonight 6pm
at UAA studios - text 801.634.3174 for the address or more information.
