Job Posting: Production Director for Element 11, Inc.

Element 11, a pioneering artistic community and event organization, is in search of a proactive and talented Production Director. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the operational and logistical aspects of running an organization. Understanding event/festival infrastructure, having good interpersonal skills and possessing the ability to take initiative and direct a team with little oversight is crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Box Office:

  • Coordinate with department lead to set sale dates, ticket quantities/types and pricing.
  • Implement roll-out of ticket sales and oversee customer support.
  • Set goals and create strategies to achieve projected sales numbers.
  • Coordinate with Communications to market event and make relevant information known to potential attendees.

Elemental Public Works:

  • Manage the implementation of infrastructure necessary to support the event.  This includes sanitation and lighting, power and water supply, vehicle procurement and road management.
  • Coordinate with department lead to ensure that all volunteer slots are filled and that volunteers have proper training for respective positions.
  • Take responsibility for procurement, transport and invoicing of infrastructure equipment/materials.
  • Coordinate with other departments to solve problems and accommodate any modifications necessary to existing infrastructure.

Event Placement:

  • Coordinate with all departments and land owners to plan out the locations of event infrastructure, camps and art installations.
  • Design event maps in collaboration with the Theme Camps Director.
  • Organize volunteers to assist in placing attendants at the event.
  • Gather annual media from the community to document events.

Event Main Gate and Greeters:

  • Manage the operation of the main gate into the event. This includes ticket verification, vehicle checks, providing information and controlling the entry of attendants.
  • Organize volunteers to work the gate and ensure that they have necessary equipment/infrastructure.  Coordinate with department lead to ensure that volunteers are trained for their roles..
  • Coordinate with Safety/Rangers to ensure that participants entering the event are adhering to the rules of conduct.
  • Providing warm and enthusiastic welcome to participants entering the event, providing WWWW guide.
  • Coordinate with Volunteer dept. To recruit department leads who oversee and manage volunteers.  Create incentives to fill empty volunteer slots to ensure uninterrupted operation of gate.

Ice Sales:

  • Coordinate with box office and Communications to market and sell ice during event. 
  • Coordinate with supplier and transportation company in a timely manner to ensure product is available at the event.  Responsible for taking care of vendor invoicing and setting delivery dates/times.
  • Manage volunteers to verify purchases and distribute bags of ice at the event.  Ensure proper training for recording volunteer hours. 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operations/project management, event logistics or other related field.
  • Proficient in website management tools and digital communication methods.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills as well as ability to delegate and understand the big picture.
  • Ability to work with little to no oversight and take responsibility for the improvement of processes to help the organization grow.
  • Passionate about fostering community involvement and Burner culture.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous engagement with Element 11 or similar community-driven organizations.
  • Knowledge of Festival/Event planning, infrastructure and logistics.
